I struggle to find the energy to cook dinner and clean every day. In an attempt to make it easier to have real home meals more often without having to worry about cooking so much, I have decided to try freezer meals. For now, I’m starting with crockpot freezer meals. Tomorrow I’ll be taking out all of the fresh produce and meat and bagging everything into recipe bags. Every day, I will pull a bag out of the freezer and stick it in the fridge to thaw. I will use an already-thawed back to toss in the crockpot for the day and just let it cook while I work on my homework or cleaning. Before dinner, I will look to see if I need to make any sides or prepare anything and then dinner will be ready to go!
I got the current recipes from New Leaf Wellness books. I have enough food in one shopping trip to make 28 meals. PHEW! I spent about $300 for everything to make those meals (I did have a few things already).
Have you ever tried freezer meals? Do you have any tips for first-timers? What is your favorite freezer meal?
